Policies & Privacy

Policies

Please be sure to review this policies page prior to signing up for each new workshop, camp, or private session, as Art Hive Studio reserves the right at any time to update its policies, which could change as we grow.

Payment

Payment at time of registration is required. Free events, classes, workshops or camps do not require payment, yet we do ask that you complete the "check out" process for free activities to help us prepare ahead of time.

Cancellation Policy

If canceling for any paid event 14 days before the start of class, we will issue a 100% refund. For cancellations less than 14 days up until 72 hours of when a workshop, art camp or semester session begins, tuition is 50% refundable, or we can swap your class date instead. Less than 72 hours prior to the first day of a workshop, art camp, or semester session, no refunds will be given, yet we will happily swap your class date for a future opening, if available at the time of cancellation.

Missed Classes

No refunds will be issued due to illness or missed classes. However, students can join another class that has space available within 30 days of the missed class to make up for the time they missed.

In-Class Participation

At Art Hive Studio, we understand that not everyone (child or adult) learns the same or at the same pace and some may like more or less assistance than others. With our format of instruction, we try to ensure that everyone has an exceptional experience.

That said, if someone (child or adult) is unwilling to participate, we will not force them to do their art. Art Hive Studio instructors will do their very best to encourage and assist students to complete class lessons.

In-Class Behavior

All guidance techniques are designed to prevent difficult situations from occurring. In the unlikelihood that a difficult situation arises related to behavior, we will address it through compassionate redirection and limiting choices.

However, if a minor-aged student does not respond favorably after repeated redirection, parental/guardian help may be needed. If working with the student and parents/guardians fail to improve the minor-aged student's behavior over the next class session they attend, Art Hive Studio reserves the right to dismiss the minor-aged student from class, temporarily or permanently. In these cases, no refunds will be given, yet we will be happy to provide the art activity directions to the parent/guardian, so they can guide the minor-aged student in the activity outside of the class.

We ask you to guide minor-aged students (and, honestly, this goes for students of any and all ages, xoxo) on the following rules prior to beginning lessons, and we will briefly review these same class rules on the first day:

  • Respect other students, teachers, property, and self
  • Speak kindly to others
  • Use your inside voice
  • Stay in your own work space without disturbing others unless invited by a fellow student or directed by the instructor
  • Please, no cell phone use or other digital device use during class (ok, ok, we do make exceptions). Art Hive Studio will not be responsible for any damage to devices.

Drop Off and Pick Up Policy

  • Minor-aged students must be picked up promptly at the designated class end time.
  • Only a parent or legal guardian designated by a parent or legal guardian on the Student Form will be authorized to pick up their minor-aged student(s) following a class.
  • If the parent or guardian dropping off is not the parent or guardian picking up, please be sure to sign the check in sheet and designate on the sheet who will be picking up your minor-aged student that day.
  • Art Hive Studio instructors are not responsible for entertaining and occupying minor-aged students past their lesson timeframe; however, we know life isn’t perfect. If extenuating circumstances happen that will prevent a prompt pickup, parents/guardians must call or text Art Hive Studio before the end of class to inform the instructor of the additional length of time. Regardless of reason, beginning at 15 minutes past pickup time, Art Hive Studio charges $15 for every 15-minutes thereafter.

Wait Lists

For upcoming workshops, art camps, and semester sessions that have already reached capacity, we maintain a wait list in the order that wait list requests are received. If we have an opening prior to the event/class/camp start date, we will contact the next in line and continue to move down the wait list until all openings are filled.
